Donald Trump announced the launching of his social network site
The former US President Donald Trump has declared openly his intention to launch a new social media network. The platform he named TRUTH Social.
He said the platform was created to stand up against the domination and authoritarianism of big techs.
He also indicted them of quieting opinions from oppositions.
Social media platforms played a great influence in Mr Trump’s request for a long stay in the White House.
Social media is one of his common forms of passing information as president.
However, Mr Trump was restricted from accessing Twitter. He also got suspension from Facebook. This happens after his supporters cause violence in the US Capitol.

Social media companies were faced with anxiety to ban Mr Donald Trump during his presidential tenure.
Many of his posts were condemned as insulting, provocative, or promoting falsehood.
Last year, it was reported that Twitter and Facebook delete some of his posts. With most of them being labelled as misleading.
For example, in a post in which he said Covid was less harmful than the flu.
The decision of banning Mr Donald Trump was taken after the January riot.
Which followed a statement in which he made mention of electoral fraud.
The statement is considered by many people as baseless.
Reacting to the riots, Mr Donald Trump commends those who cause riots in Capitol. He called them true patriots.
He showed no clue of accepting the outcome of the election. This action urged Twitter and Facebook to ban him from their platform.

Since the restriction, he and his aides have mentioned the creating of a social media site to compete with the likes of Facebook and Twitter.
Earlier this year, he created “From the Desk of Donald J Trump”. This website was considered to be a personal blog.
Within a month of the website creation, it was shut down permanently.
The platform has only a few percentages of the audience he would have expected through verified sites.

His social networking platform, TRUTH Social, will be available only to invited people by next month.
According to reports from Donald Trump Media and Technology Group, there will be a worldwide rollout within the first quarter of 2022.
The TMTG company, which is led by Trump, also has plans to launch a subscription on-demand videos worldwide.
TMTG stated that the on-demand videos platform will include a lot of features including entertainment, podcasts, news, programming, and many more.
This was announced a few months after one of his senior aides Jason Miller founded a social media venture called GETTR.

Mr. Trump’s complaint about how social media ban prudent voices. His objection was shared by many Republican supporters.
Although Facebook statistics reveal that figures like that of Shapiro and Dan Bongino.
Including much popular media like The Daily Caller, Fox news always appears among the site’s most engaging posts.
However, Mr Trump still maintains a strong fan over that of the Republican party. He has declared his interest in running as a presidential candidate in 2024.
But he has made no public announcement. He has also kept his profile up to date with public conventions.
